Father's Day Weekend!

Father's Day weekend was busy, busy, busy! I was teasing Joe and told him he was celebrating like Alicia did when she turned 21 LOL, but she did celebrate her birthday for a month or more and it will be hard to break that record.
Saturday morning I bought him a barrel fan for his garage. He works in the heat everyday so I thought he needed a break when he is working at home.

Saturday night we went to church with Alicia, Daniel and the boys. They were going to be out of town on Sunday. After church we went to Red Lobster to eat supper. Yummy! Sam named his lobster,"Sam" He is so cute! While we were in church he invited me for ice cream so we stopped at Chiller's. First cherry shake I have had this summer, my favorite! We then went to Alicia's house so they could give Joe his present. Daniel and Sam built him a lamp post for our campsite when we camp! They worked really hard on it. It is awesome! I have said it before and I'll say it again, we have a great son-in-law! Thanks Daniel !

Sunday morning we took my Dad to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and spent the morning with him. We had a wonderful time!

Joe came home and took a nap and then it was time for the boys and their families to come up for supper. Below is a picture of them, Matt and Mike grilling out pork chops for supper. They were delicious!

Mike got Joe a new boat cooler and Beef Jerky which he loves and will not buy because it costs too much! lol
Matt built him corn hole boards!

Here is Joe, Matt, Mike and Tyler! We missed you McAfee's!

Thank you kids! We would be lost without you! We love you more than I can say!!!

Christian's Baby Shower

Today, I went to Christian's baby shower. She is one of my daycare kids! So sweet! In two weeks she will have a little baby girl, Elena to hold in her arms! It's crazy to start on the second generation of daycare kids, but I have been doing it for quite awhile! I can't wait to meet the new baby!

Camping with the McAfee's

We had the camper with us when we went to Sam's ballgame on Saturday morning and after it was over we headed to Glendale Campground south of Elizabethtown, KY to camp with the McAfee's! They were going to see Thomas the Train in New Haven on Sunday and we went to hang out with them at the campground. It was so nice and peaceful. All of the pictures are backwards, but I'm not changing them. LOL

Makenzie was with us. Here she is making up a new dance routine.

Daniel roasting marshmellows for S'mores.

Alicia really enjoys them,too!

The next pictures are of Sam's sticky mess. I think he enjoys them more than anyone. This was after the Spiderman ice cream from the campstore!

Jake taking his camp bath!

My sweet little Lucy

Pap and Jake. My gosh, he loves his Papaw!

We never have to worry about taking Sam to the bathroom! LOL

I think Makenzie and Sam were starting to get tired of the pictures. Oh well, it's a great life if you don't weaken!

We were set up facing each other. It is so much fun watching Sam come out of that camper in the morning!

My two girls, Makenzie and Alicia!

Here's my smallest angel baby, Jake. He loves to camp too! It's going to be interesting when he starts to crawl.

Sam's Ballgame

We had another busy weekend! Here are some pictures of Sam's ballgame on Saturday morning! He is so precious!

Camp Bunco

This weekend we went camping in the Hoosier National Forest at Tell City, IN at the Indian-Celina campground. Now, if you like to fish this is suppose to be a good place to go, however I was there for the weekend and never did see the lake, so I don't know. The guys went fishing and the girls just hung out gabbing. Friday night we arrived, set up, grilled out and did nothing. Saturday the guys went fishing, (did I just say that?) and the girls went shopping. First, we went into Tell City and shopped at a shop called TASSELS that had alot of unique things. Kathy is about to be a grandmother and needed gifts for her daughter's baby shower next weekend.

In the afternoon we went to Saint Meinard Archabbey in St. Meinard, IN close to the campground. It is awesome!!! For those that don't know and for those that do here is what the visitor's guide has to say.

Saint Meinard Archabbey was founded in 1854 by monks of the Abbey of Einsiedeln in Switzerland. Today, the 95 monks of this Beneditine community still live by the RULE OF ST. BENEDICT, and the motto ora et labora (pray and work). One of the primary works of Saint Meinrad has been the education of future leaders of the Catholic Church. The School of Theology provides education and formation for priests, permanent deacons and lay students. Below are a few pictures of the church and complex, none of which do it justice.

So peaceful

The organ is massive filling the entire end of the church .

The altar is at the front of the church when you walk in. All the seats are along the side. They remind me of the Church of England only very plain.
I was awestruck! Frankly, I can not imagine anyone entering this church and not believing in the Catholic Church and wanting to a part of it. I am blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.

Here are the traditional camping pictures. Nothing wild about this trip, very quiet and peaceful.

Saturday night

The guys trying to solve the world's problems, what else is new?

Memorial Day Camping

Every Memorial Day weekend we head out to the lake. We have done this since the early 1980's when the kids were small. If you want to find us we are at Patoka Lake for sure. This year we left as usual on Friday after work, but we had the new kids on the block camping with us in their own camper this year. We made it 7 miles down the road to New Salisbury and they had to get gas. Here we are waiting patiently at the gas station.

Daniel is pumping gas while Alicia is getting last minute things she knew she had forgotten. :)

Here she is after she came out after the grocery store. She is so proud and of course we are too! She bought some coffee filters, but I never did see any coffee they made!

We finally did make it to the campground though and we had a lot of fun. This is Saturday night at the camp. Daniel is fixing their supper on his new grill they got for Christmas. Lookin' good Daniel!

Alicia feeding Jake. He does not wait for anyone to cook for him. Their camper is looking good in the background!

Tyler, Makenzie and Julie playing some cornhole before dinner.

Mike is watching all the fun! I think he looks like he is relaxed!

Sunday we went out on the water for awhile. Jake is loving the no car seat. He thinks he is big stuff!

The wind was blowing his eyelids shut. he was so cute. He was soooo excited!

Sam aka Spidey was point guard on the boat. The kids have all come up thru the ranks taking their turn at the front. Alicia, Matt, Tyler, Makenzie, Sam and it won't be long before it is Jake's turn.

Sam was pretty much doing everything at camp. He kept talking about how much fun he was having camping! He was so cute!

My sweet Kenze! She is so special!

A little brother/sisterly love! A very rare display. I keep telling them they will be best friends someday!

One last picture of the happiest camper in the park!! So precious!

We had a wonderful time guys! There is no better time in the world than spending time with our kids and grandkids! We love you and we can't wait until the next trip!
